A 99-YEAR-OLD grandmother has fulfilled a bucket list dream by being locked up in a police cell. Known only as Annie, the pensioner looked delighted as she was handcuffed and detained by police in the Netherlands. She had told her family she always wanted to experience what it would be like to be jailed and so they put the bizarre request to cops. They obliged in helping Annie, who has never committed any crime, by allowing her to sit in a cell in order to achieve one of her last wishes. A police officer at the Nijmegen Zuid station, around 75 miles (120 km) from Amsterdam, said, “Her niece came to us with this request. “When she was reporting a crime, she told the police officer about Annie’s bucket list. “You get many unusual requests with this profession. We thought it would be nice to do something special for Annie.” In heartfelt pictures taken at the time, Annie is pictured grinning ear to ear as the cuffs got put on her hands. In another picture, she proudly holds up her cuffs from behind the cell. People have praised the police for helping Annie to realize her dream and the force —Politie Nijmegen-Zuid — called the experience “a day to remember.”(SD-Agencies) |
