SHENZHEN ranked first nationwide regarding the number of urban services available on Alipay, the Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

    Alipay and Xinhua News Agency jointly released a report Monday, which revealed the top 10 cities in China with the most urban services provided on Alipay.

    Shenzhen topped the list with 83 urban services available on Alipay, outnumbering any other city nationwide, while Hangzhou and Shanghai were in the second and third places, respectively.

    According to the report, Shenzhen residents’ five favorite services on Alipay last week included provident fund services, inquiries of social security accounts, digital social security cards, transport card top-up services and renewal of entry permits to Hong Kong and Macao.

    Shenzhen had also pioneered some services on Alipay before any other city did, such as enabling mobile payments to the medical insurance system, adopting e-driving licenses and using facial recognition technology for provident fund services.
