Threat out of sympathy
    2017-March-8  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

OUT of sympathy for a vagrant, a 17-year-old teenager threatened a pedestrian with a knife, demanding the person take off his shoes and give them to the vagrant.

Longgang’s procuratorate has decided to drop the charge against the minor, surnamed Lin, on the condition that Lin attends six months of full-time vocational training.

It was the first time that the procuratorate had introduced a training program to help teenagers for their delinquencies.

On Oct. 1 last year, Lin felt sympathetic for a vagrant and bought food for him. He even demanded that a pedestrian take off his shoes. Lin was later arrested on charges of robbery. An investigation showed that Lin was of fair character and could be corrected. Lin was also pardoned by the victim. (Han Ximin)
