A SURVEY conducted by an online dating website showed that the number of single women in Shenzhen ranked third in the country, following Beijing and Shanghai.

    The online dating site, Zhenai.com, said that it had conducted a sampling survey of its over 100 million members and was able to draw a few conclusions from the results.

    The survey showed that over 70 percent of the single women surveyed attached more importance to a woman’s talent than outer appearance.

    They think that the advantages that women possess should be prioritized as talent, independence and then physical appearance.

    More than 80 percent of them said that they earned less than 100,000 yuan (US$14,490) a year, while most of the single women with high incomes resided in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
