Credit cards well-recognized
    2017-March-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A REPORT released by the Shenzhen Consumer Council on Thursday showed that most credit cards are well-recognized by Shenzhen residents, as the average score of 10 credit cards evaluated by the council in a Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey was 35.8, the highest among all of the products that the council has evaluated.

The NPS survey was calculated based on responses to a single question — how likely is it that you would recommend this company, product or service to a friend. The answers were scored on a scale of 0 to 10.

The council has collected opinions from 2,000 respondents via an online NPS survey regarding the 10 most-used credit cards by Shenzhen residents.

Credit cards issued by China Construction Bank are the most-used by residents in Shenzhen, followed by credit cards issued by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, Bank of Communications, Bank of China, Ping An Bank, China Citic Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, China Guangfa Bank and National Commercial Bank.

However, the report showed that the most-used credit cards are not necessarily the most-recommended ones. Consumers would consider the following factors when recommending a credit card to others, including the bank’s credibility, financial capacity, reputation, quality of services and the convenience of the application procedures.

According to the report, consumers wouldn’t recommend a credit card if the application procedure was time-consuming. They would also be reluctant to recommend a credit card if they couldn’t access relevant services on their mobile device or if the credit card didn’t suit their spending needs.

The council received 56 complaints from residents involving credit cards last year, soaring by 211 percent compared with 2015.
