    Flight to Phnom Penh

A NEW air route between Shenzhen and Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, will be put into service on a daily basis March 26. In June, Shenzhen Airport will open a flight to Moscow. The airport also plans to open flights to San Francisco, London and Melbourne this year.

Shenzhen Airport is now operating 24 international routes, half of which were put into use in 2016.

In another development, a third runway, to be initiated this year, will be able to accommodate the world’s largest commercial and cargo aircraft. The third runway will be built to the west of the second runway and east of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway.

    New app

A NEW app was launched to offer a one-stop management service of various memberships at different stores by Ping An Bank last week. The app is expected to safeguard consumers’ rights when joining prepaid memberships.

The theory behind the app is that the money used for the prepaid service at different stores will be saved in Ping An Bank. Customers can use the app to pay for the services or products with the money saved at the bank.

If the shop owners illegally terminate their business without refunding the prepaid money, the bank will return the rest of the money to the customers.

    Self-help ticket machines

SEVERAL self-service ticket machines were installed March 10 for trams that will be opened soon in Longhua District.

Passengers can purchase tram tickets with coins or bank notes or via online payment by scanning the QR code shown on the machines’ screen. Additionally, residents can use Shenzhentong to pay for their trip at the gate of the station.

THE city’s public security bureau destroyed over 5,000 counterfeit and substandard fire-control products in Longgang District on Friday morning.

During a monthlong citywide operation, the bureau impounded counterfeit and substandard fire-control products from producers, retailers and users.

Residents are welcome to call 96119 or 12315 to report counterfeit or substandard fire-control products to the police.
