A NEW car-hailing app called WscarEcar was launched for a trial run by a Shenzhen-based company Saturday, aiming to offer car-sharing services to drivers and passengers in third and fourth-tier cities, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.
The app’s operator, Wscar-Ecar Information Technology Co. Ltd., has opened over 100 branch offices nationwide over the past four months since its launch ceremony in November last year.
According to the report, the company is dedicated to linking urban and rural areas in China with car-sharing services, with the goal of offering app-based cabbies “a decent job.” It has adopted a new cooperative model for drivers by making them shareholders of the company as a way to ensure their rights and interests will be well-protected.
Additionally, drivers’ unions and partners from the company’s branch offices across the country can jointly how to use and distribute revenue taken by the company, offering drivers the bargaining power to protect their benefits, according to the report. (Zhang Yang)
