A GANG of 25 suspects that forged and sold fake tickets of hot-selling games and concerts have received prison sentences of various lengths, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.
The gang reportedly earned profits by selling counterfeit tickets to concerts through online channels or outside the entrances. The Nanshan People’s Procuratorate filed a public lawsuit against the gang last year. The 25 suspects were given jail terms ranging between nine and 18 months.
Prosecutors said that one of the suspects, surnamed Wan, had colluded with another two suspects who were owners of quick print shops in Shenzhen to forge tickets for in-demand concerts and sports games.
Wan was responsible for providing authentic tickets and the shop owners took charge of forging and printing the tickets. After the fake tickets were made, Wan would distribute the tickets to over 20 people who would then sell them through various channels.
The gang reportedly forged and sold tickets to various kinds of shows including the NBA games Shenzhen in 2015, the popular Korean group Bigbang’s concert in Shenzhen last year and concerts of some well-known celebrities from Taiwan and Hong Kong. Over 50 victims fell for the gang’s tricks. (Zhang Qian)
