HUAWEI and ZTE topped the 20 local enterprises that were awarded Tuesday for their contribution to the city’s GDP.

    The added value of the 20 enterprises reached 517.1 billion yuan (US$75 billion), accounting for one-third of the city’s GDP growth.

    Huawei ranked first with an added value of 100 billion yuan, accounting for half of the total added value of the seven industrial enterprises in the top 20.

    Among the 20 enterprises, nine of them, or 45 percent, were financial enterprises, the city’s statistics bureau said at the award ceremony, which also marked the inauguration of the bureau’s new office in the Civic Center. The added value of the nine financial enterprises in 2016 reached 164.9.4 billion yuan.
