    More intl. flights

SHENZHEN Airport will open at least five international air routes to Moscow, Melbourne, Manila, Sapporo in Japan and Hanoi in Vietnam this year, the airport said yesterday, the first day for implementing autumn-spring flight schedules.

The airport will operate around 7,000 flights a week under the new schedule that runs until Oct. 28.

    Tram arrives

THE second train on the Longhua tramline arrived at Hengkeng Depot, near Renmin Road in Longhua District, on Friday. The 36.6-meter-long train has four carriages.

The operator will put 12 trains into service when the tramline is put into operation at the end of June.

The first train will be put on a test run at the end of the month.

    Trains to Zhuhai

TRAVELERS in Shenzhen will be able to take trains to Zhuhai at Shenzhen North Railway Station when trains are put into service April 16.

Under the new national train schedule, Shenzhen North Railway Station will operate 241.5 pairs of trains, and an additional three pairs of trains will stop at Guangmingcheng Station for commuters, according to a release from the Guangzhou Railway Group Corp. yesterday.

Shenzhen West Railway Station will add K9096 trains from Shenzhen to Shantou on April 17. The fare for the whole trip will be 97 yuan (US$14). The train will leave Shenzhen at 12:16 p.m. and arrive in Shantou at 8:10 p.m.
