A FEMALE passenger was severely injured in a three-car pileup in the Bantian area, Longgang District, on Sunday, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.
The surveillance footage showed that one car had rear-ended another car on Bulong Road in Bantian at around 1 p.m. Sunday, but the drivers never moved their cars to the roadside. The female passenger was standing between the two cars when a third car crashed into them.
After fracturing both of her legs, she might be at risk of losing them, according to the report.
The traffic police warned that drivers should move their cars to the roadside after taking photos of the scene of a traffic collision. They should also switch their engine off, apply the handbrake, turn on the emergency flasher, set up a warning triangle behind their cars and stay away from their cars to avoid a second accident, according to the report.
