Taoist cultural relics
Precious Taoist cultural relics are on display at the Shenzhen Museum showing the rich and ancient history of Taoist culture. The exhibits are on loan from Hubei Provincial Museum and Wudang Museum in Central China’s Hubei Province.

Paintings of chickens
Local artist Zhuang Yujun is exhibiting his 220 chicken paintings. The rooster is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. The rooster symbolizes confidence, bravery, diligence and auspiciousness.

Images of Chaoshan
More than 600 rarely seen images and an hour-long video of life in Chaozhou and Shantou in the early 20th century are on display. Researchers believe the video was shot in 1921-1939.

Canadian Brass
Canadian brass quintet Canadian Brass will this week. The “Kings of Brass,” as described by the Ottawa Citizen, had their first European tour in 1972. The Canadian Brass is known for their unique performance attire of formal black suits with white running shoes. The band has been named “one of the most popular brass ensembles in the world” by The Washington Post. Their awards range from three honorary doctorates to Grammy, Canadian Juno and German Echo recording awards.
