Li Yongbo quits as head coach
    2017-04-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINA national badminton team head coach Li Yongbo said he may no longer hold any position on the team, Chinese media reported yesterday.

His future work may be related to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, reports said.

During his tenure as head coach in the past six Olympic Games, the China badminton team won a total of 18 gold medals, five in women’s doubles and singles, four in men’s singles, three in men’s doubles, and two in mixed doubles.

Last year after the Rio Olympic Games, Malaysia media said that Li would step down as the Chinese badminton team won only two gold medals. However, it was later denied. (SD News)
