Actress confirms divorce after ‘cheating’ scandal
    2017-04-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINESE actress Bai Baihe confirmed on Weibo her ex-husband Chen Yufan’s announcement yesterday afternoon, saying the couple divorced in 2015. She also apologized to Chen and her family for putting them in the spotlight after her “cheating scandal.”

Chen revealed early yesterday morning that he and Bai already went separate ways, several days after Bai was exposed of “cheating” on him.

In a brief video Chen posted, he said he did not publicize the divorce earlier “in order to protect his child and family.” He also announced that he was “leaving the show biz indefinitely.”

Chen had posted another strong message the day before on Weibo warning anyone “who tried to destroy” his family.

    The scandal emerged Wednes-

day when a Chinese media outlet published a report about Bai vacationing with a younger man in Thailand in February. Two short clips featuring Bai with the young man surfaced online, showing the pair acting intimately. The videos, most likely taken by paparazzi, showed Bai and the young man engaging in reams of PDA by the swimming pool of their hotel and on the street. Netizens later identified the man as model Zhang Aipeng.

After Bai’s cheating scandal erupted, Chen first left a simple message on his social media, “[Those who have nothing else to do], go home to celebrate the holiday.” He also shared a picture of himself with his finger over his lips.

When the clips leaked, there were rumors that Bai’s endorsers had dropped her. The Chinese singing show “Singer 2017,” which originally had Bai singing a duet with contestant Zhang Bichen, replaced her with Aska Yang. There’s also been talk that dramas starring Bai are being shelved.

Bai, 33, and Chen, 41, were married in 2006 after meeting on the set of a TV series. The couple have a 9-year-old son. Chen is a member of the Chinese pop duo, Yu Quan. Bai shot to fame in 2011 with the drama “Love Is Not Blind” and became a popular choice for female lead roles in Chinese chick flicks.
