Fall from building

    A WORKER died and another was injured while installing panel walls on a building under construction at the intersection of Shennan Boulevard and Keyuan South Road in Nanshan District on Sunday. The injured worker is being treated at Nanshan People’s Hospital.

    The work safety department has started an investigation.

    Violent resistance

    TWO people were detained for 15 days for resorting to violence against law enforcement officers in Bantian, Longgang District, when they attempted to clear construction materials that were obstructing a firefighting passage at Xuexiang housing estate. The two suspects threatened the law enforcement officers with a kitchen knife when they started to clear the passage.

    U-Station

    A VOLUNTEER service station, called a U-Station, was put into use at OCT Harbor on Saturday, offering information consultation and tourist guidance, as well as umbrella, medicine and phone charging services. The station has its own feature of introducing the cultural and business facilities at OCT Harbor and the neighboring facilities such as Metro, medical and bus services.

    New trains

    SHENZHEN North Railway Station added six pairs of trains in the new operation schedule that took effect Sunday. The trains include three pairs between Shenzhen and Xiamen, one pair to Guilin and one pair to Pingshan Station. Shenzhen North Railway Station will also be a stop for trains between Chaoshan Station and Zhuhai. Three pairs of trains in the morning rush hour and three more in the evening rush hour will be added at Guangmingcheng Station. Under the new schedule, Shenzhen North Railway Station will operate 241.5 pairs of trains a day.
