Police seal apartment divided into 11 flats
    2017-April-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A BAO’AN apartment was sealed up by police after it was discovered that it had been illegally divided into 11 flats and leased to 14 tenants, according to Sznews.com.

Police officers from Xixiang Police Station in Bao’an District found that 14 people were living in the rental apartment in Xixiang Subdistrict after the apartment was divided into 11 tiny flats by the sub-landlord.

The badly ventilated apartment was wired disorderly, and the tenants were overloading the electricity. The only aisle in the apartment was stuffed on both sides with sundries, making it easy for a fire to break out and rapidly spread, which posed a threat to the tenants’ safety.

Bao’an police have temporarily sealed up the apartment and ordered the sub-landlord to rectify the problems with the apartment within a month. (Zhang Yang)
