Italian soprano Giorgia Fumanti will sing a night of catchy tunes, such as “Moon River,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Nessun Dormao,” “O Sole Mio” and “Over the Rainbow,” at the Shenzhen Concert Hall.

As an operatic pop and crossover singer, Fumanti is now based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and her music is best compared to that of Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and Enya. Her debut EMI album “From My Heart” reached the top 20 on the Billboard Crossover Chart. She has sold over 1.2 million albums so far.

Born in the Tuscan village of Fivizzano and raised in the nearby town of Aulla, Fumanti sang in a local choir when she was a teenager. In 2002, Fumanti moved to Canada and in 2007, she released the album “From My Heart.” It was produced by Craig Leon, and features her musical version of Sting’s “Fields of Gold” and four Ennio Morricone pieces including themes from “The Mission,” “Cinema Paradiso” and “Once Upon a Time in the West.”

At the 2010 Shanghai World International Expo, Fumanti and Chinese baritone Liao Changyong sang the theme song “Better City, Better Life.” She has shared the stage with Jose Carreras, Michael Bolton, Lang Lang, Justin Hayward, Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis and Irish tenor John McDermott.
