Feng’s movie wins China directors guild awards

CHINESE director Feng Xiaogang’s “I Am Not Madame Bovary” won three awards at the 8th China Film Directors Guild Awards Saturday, including best film, best screenplay for Liu Zhenyun and best actress for Fan Bingbing.

Zhang Yi, 39 was named best actor for his performance in director Cao Baoping’s “Cock and Bull.”

Best director went to Cheng Er for “The Wasted Times.”

Zhang Dalei, whose “The Summer Is Gone” follows the story of a 12-year-old boy living in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was named young director of the year.

Tsang Kwok-cheung was named Hong Kong/Taiwan director of the year for “Soul Mate,” while two more films — “Knife in the Clear Water” and “What Is in the Darkness” — won special panel awards.
