    CONSTRUCTION of five major projects in Qianhai began Wednesday. The total investment of the five projects is 17.1 billion yuan (US$2.48 billion).

    The biggest investment was the future headquarters developed by Chow Tai Fook Group and New World Group. The project received 6.4 billion yuan of investment and will stand out in the Guiwan area, the northern part in Qianhai.

    The second-largest project was co-invested by Bank of East Asia and Hong Kong Kerry Group. The 5-billion-yuan project is located in Qianwan area, the geographical center of Qianhai, and will be a complex for offices, hotels and other businesses.

    A Skyworth finance headquarters in Qianwan area and Phase II of New Times Plaza of China Merchants Group in the Shekou area will also become features of the skyline.

    The last project is being carried out by Qianhai’s fully owned company, Qianhai United Development Holdings. The project will help improve the environment and natural landscape of Qianhai, according to Qianhai officials.
