Totorro
Totorro’s first album “Home Alone” came out in 2014 and they have now followed it up with their second album “Come to Mexico.” The band plays a heavy, technical but fresh, fun, smart brand of music. Their live shows are a marvel to watch, with the two guitarists (Christophe Le Flohic and Jonathan Siche), the bass player (Xavier Rose), and the drummer (Bertrand James), matching each other’s rhythms seamlessly.

Tickets: 100 yuan
Buyi
Formed in 1995, the ethnic rock band Buyi began their musical career in their homeland Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in Northwest China. The name Buyi refers to a commoner who wears cotton clothes. For five years, they have remained a local band performing across the region, gaining a fervent local following. Now based in Beijing, Buyi has been hailed as pure and emotional. In 2000 they released several singles from their self-titled debut album, many of which feature traditional Chinese instruments such as the guzheng (a plucked zither).

Japanese bands
Three Japanese bands, Heaven in Her Arms, December and Archaique Smile, are on their way to Shenzhen. Heaven in Her Arms is a post-metal hardcore band that invites listeners to a different world with dramatic and profound songs where the three guitars intertwine exquisitely. The band rose to fame with their joint album with Cohol. December is a post-rock band and has released two EPs, “Credo” and “Torso.” Despite their limited discography, they have successfully grasped the attention of a great deal of post-rock followers. Archaique Smile, a post-rock band, is best known for their 2013 album “On the Eternal Boundary.” The band is one of the top not-to-be-missed Japanese post-rock bands to come out in recent years.
