Illegal service

THE law enforcement units of the city’s transport commission seized 67 vehicles including unlicensed buses, nonlocal app-based cabs, taxis with fake license plates and private cars that were involved in illegal taxi services during the May Day holiday.

On Saturday, road inspection officers found a bus picking up passengers near a bus stop in Bao’an. Police’s data bank showed that the bus had been involved in illegal services several times and was punished in Guangzhou and Dongguan.

The officers seized another bus at the same location, for illegally picking up passengers to go to Dongguan. The driver admitted to providing an unlicensed service.

Free Wi-Fi

NANSHAN Science and Technology Bureau has opened free Wi-Fi access in 208 locations, such as government service halls, hospitals, libraries, ports, transport terminals and industrial parks, to satisfy the demand of tens of thousands of Internet surfers.

The locations covered by free Wi-Fi bear the WiNS or SZ-WLAN (free) logo.

RESIDENCE card holders in Shenzhen can apply for travel permits to Hong Kong and Macao and passports with their ID cards and residence cards at the police exit-entry department starting Monday, according to the police exit-entry administration.
