Slow traffic system for Mt. Maluan
    2017-May-4  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

PINGSHAN District is branding its tourism with a slow traffic system at Mt. Maluan that covers an area of 694,000 square kilometers, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.

According to the district’s land planning bureau, the slow traffic system, which will cost 300 million yuan (US$43.52 million), will link natural landscapes, such as waterfalls and reservoirs as well as cultural sites like ancient villages and revolutionary heritages.

The slow traffic system will cover Mt. Maluan Country Park, Sanzhoutian Forest Park, Mt. Tiantou Natural Reserve and Jingui Community which is surrounded by the three country parks.

Work on the slow traffic system, which will combine considerations of ecological protection and leisure tourism, will start in the first half of 2018.

Tourist centers, rest stations, bicycle rental stations, aid clinics and other facilities will be built along the slow traffic routes. In addition, Mt. Maluan Mountaineering Marathon is also a part of the slow traffic system plan.

A spur line of the SkyRail monorail system developed by BYD will be built to connect the slow traffic system with other means of transport and tourist sites. (Han Ximin)
