Shenzhen Grand Theater Philharmonic Orchestra will collaborate with young pianist Wan Jieni to present Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat Major, K.271” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 3 in E-falt Major, Op. 55.”
Wan, who received musical training in both China and Germany, attended the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. Over the years, Wan has received many prizes.
She won several first prizes at Jugend Musiziert (Germany’s most prestigious youth music competition) and at the Seventh Munich International Piano Panel in 2007.
In 2010 she won first prize at the Third Kawai Asia Piano Competition and obtained the first prize at the national competition Jugend Musiziert in June 2011.
Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 9” is highly regarded by some critics as “the first unequivocal masterpiece of the classical style.”
Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 3” is a large-scale, structurally rigorous composition which marked the beginning of the creative middle-period of Beethoven. It is among Beethoven’s most celebrated works.
