Zhang Yang nicolezyyy@163.com THE 2nd Consumer Electronics China (CE China), a three-day trade fair for consumer electronics and home appliances brands in China, opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Thursday. As one of the global IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, which is one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany.) events, CE China is a platform that unites international exhibitors with Chinese retailers to bring new products to their customers. Covering an exhibition space of 15,000 square meters, this year’s trade fair is joined by more than 120 exhibitors from across the world. Bosch HA, a German home appliance company, showcased its side-by-side refrigerator Bosch VitaFresh during the fair. The refrigerator is able to keep food fresh for 15 days by maintaining the temperature at around zero degrees Celsius. At the firm’s booth, many visitors were surprised to see fresh crabs being taken out of a VitaFresh refrigerator after they had been refrigerated for two weeks. “Today we are demonstrating to Chinese consumers the amazing possibilities for fresh food offered by the VitaFresh refrigerator. Bosch HA continues to make products that support healthy living and enable more families to know the value of a healthy lifestyle,” said Wang Weiqing, vice president of BSH Home Appliances (China) Co. Siemens Home Appliances (Siemens HA) launched its new hyperClean dishwasher in partnership with Chinese appliances retailer Suning Commerce Group Co. during the trade fair. The dishwasher features a 5D sprinkler system and the integration of Home Connect, which allows users to remotely control the dishwasher anytime and anywhere via a smartphone or tablet. Siemens HA first introduced its dishwasher products to the Chinese market in 2002, according to Roland Gerke, chairman and president of BSH Home Appliances Holding (China). “Following the increase in consumer choices, Chinese consumers are increasingly inclined to buy intelligent, customized and high-quality home appliances produced by major brands,” said Gerke. This year’s CE China has also set up an exhibition area for 30 startups from across the world, which were selected and sponsored by global incubator network Techcode to join the fair. AiServe, a Berlin-based startup specializing in developing assistive technologies for the visually impaired, is one of them. The company’s CEO Gustavo Madico said the software of AiServe can enable camera-equipped smart glasses to detect road intersections and doors, recognize faces and objects and even read menus for visually impaired users. |
