LIAM HEMSWORTH is getting in on the action in “Killerman.” Malik Bader, who helmed “Cash Only,” wrote and will direct the visceral action-thriller. The story centers on small-time money launderer Moe Diamond (Hemsworth), who is suffering from amnesia after a freak accident during a deal gone wrong. Plus, he’s got vicious gangsters hot on his tail and dirty cops not far behind. John and Michael Schwarz (“Hunter Prayer”) will produce along with Myles Nestel (“Wheelman”). Lisa Wilson will executive-produce. The Solution is fully financing and handling international rights, and will introduce the project to buyers in Cannes. The pic is set to begin shooting in August. Hemsworth, who starred in the hit “Hunger Games” franchise, was most recently seen in “Independence Day: Resurgence” and “The Dressmaker” with Kate Winslet. Bader is considered a promising director on the rise, who will bring his original style to this gritty thriller. He helmed “Cash Only,” a crime thriller that debuted at the 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival and was released in the United States in May 2016. Bader also directed the 2006 documentary-style narrative film “Street Thief,” which debuted at Tribeca.(SD-Agencies) |
