LOCAL traffic police have set up a bilingual service to help visitors, including foreign nationals coming to the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the main venue of the 13th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, with their questions or if they are in an emergency.

They can call 8445-1468, 8445-1469 to reach the on-site police office or 8333-3333 for the traffic police command center.

Police won’t impose restrictions on roads around the exhibition center for the cultural fair that will last until Monday. Vehicles will need certificates to park in the parking lots around the main venue. Vehicles illegally parked on the road will be towed.

Police plan to have 1,200 officers and 110 towing vehicles on duty at the main venue and 68 subvenues across the city.

Visitors are encouraged to take Luobao or Longhua lines, get off at Convention and Exhibition Center Station, use exits E or D and walk about 150 meters to the center’s north entrance.

Metro riders can also get off at Shopping Park Station on Luobao Line and use Exit D to reach the center’s west entrance. Private car drivers can park their vehicles at Xiangmi Lake Resort Parking Lot or Shenzhen Civic Center Parking Lot before taking the Metro.

Bus transportation is also convenient with stops on Jintian, Yitian, Binhe and Fuhua roads surrounding the convention and exhibition center.

The Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory reminded visitors to bring umbrellas as occasional showers are expected Saturday and Sunday.

The weather will be overcast with periods of sunshine during the first two days of the fair that is open to professional visitors.
