Unruly bikers die in accidents
    2017-May-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MAN was knocked down by a car and died on the scene Tuesday after he had violated traffic rules to cross Shahe East Road in Nanshan District.

Nanshan police said on its official microblog that the man surnamed Fang, 53, held major responsibility for the accident.

This is the second fatal accident relating to unruly bike riders since April 30. A woman rode against traffic in a motor lane April 30 and was hit by a bus in Luohu District. She died at the scene.

In another accident May 2, a woman surnamed Lin was sent to University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital for injuries she sustained while riding an app-based bike to work.

Lin couldn’t slow the bike due to brake failure while she was riding down a slope. Lin hit a post, fell to the ground and injured her limbs, head and suffered from lung parenchyma destruction and pneumothorax.

The bike operator Bluegogo confirmed that one of the two braking wires had broken.
