Tan Yifan cicitan2011@gmail.com EIGHT leading experts in arts, technology, digital and cultural industries shared their views on the development of digital creative industry at Thursday’s China-Israel Digital Creative Industry Forum, which was one of this year’s ICIF events, at Shenzhen Industrial Museum in Futian District. Yoram Morad, director of the Division of Cultural and Scientific Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, said they were happy to be invited to join the ICIF and the forum. He said to enhance the creative cultural cooperation between the two countries, his team has invited professionals of various expertise to illustrate their achievements and exchange ideas. Doron Friedman, head of Advanced Reality Lab, said Israel is a famed innovation center. “Besides Israel, I think China might be the next Silicon Valley, because many Chinese companies are trying to make new inventions. Also, I wonder whether Chinese culture might make big impact on the future.” He also shared his research on holographic technology and advanced human computer interfaces. He said his team is working on applying FMRI technology to try to create a way for brains to control objects. Daniel Landau, an Israeli media artist and researcher, showcased his projects on art and technology. He mentioned that artists and psychologists might one day be able to use virtual reality technology to discover new languages. Tsahi Liberman, director of International Affairs for the Digital Games Industry Association in Israel, and Liat Segal, an Israeli artist, discussed Israel’s gaming industry and projects that are combining art and technology. Wang Yuejun, general manager of Shenzhen Press Group, said as the two countries have good foundations in the digital creative industry, the forum was held to provide experts a platform to make exchanges. |
