Leopard cat spotted
    2017-May-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A leopard cat that a photography team in Shenzhen claimed to have recently photographed on Mt. Tanglang in Nanshan District. It was the first time for such an animal to be spotted in an urban area of a big city in China. The team captured the images of three leopard cats. Video footage showed the leopard cats were slightly larger than domestic cats with longer legs and tail. Such cats have been spotted on other mountains in Shenzhen including Mt. Wutong, Mt. Maluan and Mt. Qiniang. The leopard cat is listed as a State-protected animal in China. Courtesy of Shenzhen Fangzhou Biodiversity Images Center
