China League One

Shenzhen Kaisa F.C. will compete with Wuhan Zall F.C. Saturday night. Shenzhen Kaisa F.C. is a professional Chinese football club that currently participates in the China League One division, the second tier of Chinese clubs. The team’s current head coach is Sven-Goran Eriksson from Sweden.

A Heart for China

Join local charity organization A Heart for China to spend time with children at the Huayang Rehabilitation Center for Disabled and Autistic Children this Sunday. Volunteers will play with the children, hold them, or merely offer a loving and reassuring presence. No special skills or supplies are needed, just a smile and an open heart. Meet Ronny (WeChat: ronny16) at Metro Line 4’s Baishilong Station (地铁四号线白石龙站), Exit C, at 1:30 p.m. May 14 to take a bus together to the school. The bus will return at 5:30 p.m. and the fare is 30 yuan, including water.

Li Keran’s paintings

More than 20 paintings created by Chinese master Li Keran are on display at a newly-opened exhibition organized by Xuzhou City, Li’s hometown. Another 100 paintings by other Xuzhou artists, as well as rubbing calligraphy pieces and a holographic projection of ancient stone carving, are also on display.

Classical music

Shenzhen Grand Theater Philharmonic Orchestra will collaborate with young pianist Wan Jieni to present Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat Major, K.271” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 3 in E-falt Major, Op. 55.”

Vintage toy exhibition

A selection of 200 vintage toys from the 1960s are on display at the “Little Plaything” exhibition. The toys capture the craziness, the joy and the sheer fun of being a kid.
