TWO medical teams led by two Chinese academicians, who are well-known for their research on tumor treatments, have established long-term partnerships with Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Sunday. One of the medical teams is led by Yu Jinming, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Tumor Hospital. Yu is the only academician specializing in tumor radiotherapy in China and he has been awarded by the Ministry of Health for his remarkable contributions in the health sector. The other medical team is led by Sun Yan, an academician from Shandong Tumor Hospital. Sun is a leading expert specializing in chemotherapy in China. As part of Shenzhen’s “3R Project,” which encourages the introduction of established doctors, hospitals and institutes from outside the city to help improve local health-care services, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital will join hands with two medical teams to build a top-notch tumor radiotherapy and chemotherapy center in Shenzhen. The hospital will also set up a multidisciplinary remote diagnosis platform and an oncologic precision medicine platform with liquid biopsy technology and a tumor bio-bank. (Zhang Yang) |
