ICIF closes
THE five-day China International Cultural Industries Fair closed Monday with deals worth 224 billion yuan (US$32.5 billion) signed, a 10-percent increase over last year’s fair.
The fair attracted 20,016 overseas buyers from 99 countries and regions including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, Hungary and Israel.
In five days, the main venue and 68 subvenues attracted 6.66 million visitors, including 1.18 million professional visitors.
Metro station names
THE city’s planning and State land commission unveiled the names of 93 Metro stations in Phase III of city’s rail project.
The stations are on the eastern extension of Line 2, Phase I of Line 8, eastern and southern extensions of Line 3, northern extension of Line 4, southern extension of Line 5, southern extension of Line 6, and western extensions of Line 9 and Line 10.

Stroke victim saved
AN elderly man who lives alone suffered from a stroke at home, but was saved by Longgang police after 20 hours without food or water.
Xinshang Police Station received a call for help from a woman in Nanchong, Sichuan Province, on May 12 saying that she had lost contact with her 57-year-old father who lived in a rented apartment in Longgang Subdistrict.
Police arrived at the apartment and opened the door with the help of a locksmith. They found the old man was lying on the floor and was unable to speak. The man was diagnosed with stroke by Longgang Central Hospital.
