No meat products
AS Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, the Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau warned that residents are not allowed to bring or mail fresh fruit or vegetables, salted duck eggs, roosters or any kind of meat products across the Shenzhen-Hong Kong border, as these products might carry viruses such as bird flu, foot-and-mouth disease or other epidemic diseases.
Talent recommendation
SIX candidates from Shenzhen will be recommended to join a national high-level talent introduction project this year. Local companies and government departments can recommend candidates to the city’s human resources and social security bureau.
Eligible candidates should be below 50 years old and have at least a deputy senior professional or technical title.
The recommenders are encouraged to nominate those who have played a leading role in the city’s high-tech industries, such as robot technology, artificial intelligence and 3-D printing.
Commercial complex
RAFFLES City, the only foreign-funded commercial complex in Shenzhen and the first in South China, has solicited many famous enterprises, such as Amazon and AEDAS, to open stores or set up offices in the building. CapitaLand, the complex’s Singapore-based developer, has developed 40 real estate projects since it entered the South China market.
Counterfeit cigarettes
BAO’AN police seized more than 16,000 cartons of counterfeit cigarettes at a logistics park in Xinqiao Subdistrict recently. The cigarettes were estimated to be worth about 220,000 yuan (US$31,988).
The suspect who mailed the cigarettes to the logistics park, surnamed Huang, was detained Friday in Luohu District. He has been put under criminal detention. The case is being investigated.
Electric freight cars
THERE were 11,228 electric freight vehicles registered in the city as of the end of last year, outnumbering any other city in the world.
The Shenzhen Electric Vehicle Application and Promotion Center has launched a program that aims at putting into use 3,000 electric freight vehicles and 3,000 recharging poles across the city within two years.
