Suzhou painter Chen Rudong will exhibit his Jiangnan-themed ink paintings on paper, silk and fans in Qianhai starting Saturday afternoon. Jiangnan is a geographic area referring to the lands immediately to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The region encompasses Shanghai, the southern part of Jiangsu Province, the southern part of Anhui Province, the northern part of Jiangxi Province and the northern part of Zhejiang Province. In addition to its picturesque landscape, Jiangnan has long been regarded as one of the most prosperous regions in China due to its wealth of natural resources and high human development.
