Transportation pass
A NEW smartphone application has been released that allows residents to bind their Shenzhentong, the city’s public transportation pass, to their real names, adding a new function that allows residents to report their loss if they lose their cards.
Each account registered on the app will be able to bind 10 Shenzhentong cards to a real name and bank account. The money inside the Shenzhentong cards will be frozen upon report of a loss.
Glasses-less 3-D phone
A SMARTPHONE that can take 3-D pictures visible by the naked eye was unveiled last week in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
The phone, manufactured by a Shenzhen-based company SuperD, allows users to take pictures, watch movies and play games in 3-D without wearing 3-D glasses, thanks to “the most advanced glasses-free 3-D technology” used in its liquid crystal screen, according to the company.
Postpartum recovery
AN online appointment-making system for medical services in Shenzhen launched a new service Monday, connecting mothers with institutions for postpartum recovery through the online platform.
Mothers can find various services provided by obstetricians, pediatricians, nutritionists, maternal and child care workers as well as postpartum care workers on the website.
Safety blacklist
THE city’s safety commission released this year’s second blacklist of companies that were involved in various safety issues including hazardous chemicals, undeclared construction projects and dangerous roadwork Monday.
According to the announcement, 10 companies have received harsh punishments for letting down their guard on safety.
The commission has publicized a few cases.
Water discharge
THE water resources and environmental protection authority in Nanshan District announced that a total of 500 residential compounds in the district are expected to become pilot residential communities with standard and qualified water discharge systems.
Currently, there are 102 residential compounds that have undergone renovations to their drainage systems. The renovation work in other areas is expected to be completed before Dec. 15 this year.
Death in bushes
A MAN was found dead in the bushes of the green belt along Banxuegang Boulevard in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District last week.
Police said that the man, in his 30s, was suspected of having committed suicide and police had found some mental health pills in the man’s pockets.
The case is still under investigation.
