Gate bridge contracts

THE Shenzhen-based CIMC-Zhongtian, a subsidiary of China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., won a contract worth 296.46 million yuan (US$43 million) to build 162 contact gate bridges for the expansion project of Shanghai Pudong Airport.

This is the largest single contract regarding airport contact gate bridges ever in China.

The Pudong airport initiated its Phase III expansion project in 2015. The new project is designed to handle 38 million travelers a year.

After it is put into operation in 2019, the annual passenger turnover capacity of Pudong airport will reach 80 million.

Ex-official prosecuted

A FORMER official with Xixiang Subdistrict Office was prosecuted for allegedly taking bribes, Shenzhen Municipal People’s Procuratorate said on its official WeChat account.

According to the prosecutors, the official surnamed Chen abused his power by taking bribes totaling 400,000 yuan and HK$150,000 (US$19,248) while he was serving as head of the Xixiang law enforcement unit of the Bao’an District Urban Administration between May 2012 and November 2015.

Housing fund transfer

ON-JOB employees don’t need to go between cities to transfer their housing provident funds as Shenzhen has access to the national housing provident fund transfer platform.

Employees who want to transfer their housing provident account to Shenzhen, or to others cities from Shenzhen, can apply in the cities where they work.
