PARKING standards at Luohu, Wenjindu and Huanggang checkpoints will be increased starting June 20 in order to relieve parking difficulties and congestion in the nearby areas.
According to the standard approved by the city’s development and reform commission, the parking lot at Luohu Checkpoint will charge 10 yuan (US$1.47) for the first hour and an additional five yuan for each additional 30 minutes between 6:30 a.m. and midnight. Between midnight and 6:30 a.m., the fee will be 10 yuan for the first hour and an additional 2.5 yuan for every additional 30 minutes.
At present, the parking fee is 15 yuan for the first hour and additional five yuan for every additional 60 minutes. Authorities set a cap of 60 yuan a day.
At Wenjindu Checkpoint, the fee will be 10 yuan for the first hour and an additional three yuan for every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. During the non-peak period, between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., the fee will be 10 yuan for the first hour and an additional 1.5 yuan for every additional 30 minutes.
The parking fee for light vehicles at Huanggang Checkpoint will be 10 yuan for the first hour and an additional two yuan for every 30 minutes, according to a notice from the commission.
Vehicles won’t be charged for parking less than 15 minutes.
