Remote control system for accidents

SHENZHEN’S traffic police authority will popularize its mechanism of handling minor accidents that don’t involve injuries or fatalities through an Internet-based remote control system from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. across the city starting this month.

The mechanism was first piloted in Futian, Luohu, Nanshan and Yantian on March 31.

Drivers involved in accidents can find the Remote System feature through the Shenzhen Traffic Police Public WeChat Account or by going to the Car Owners section under the Urban Service feature on Alipay.

They can follow the instructions to upload photos of accident scenes, driver’s licenses, car licenses and insurance information. They will receive a text message telling them to remove cars from the scene and a text message to confirm liability. The insurance company can pay for the damage through its online system that is connected with police data.
