Swimming pool check

SIXTEEN swimming pools in Shenzhen failed to meet water quality standards concerning free residual chlorine, potential of hydrogen value and total bacterial and coliform count.

The health department randomly checked 283 swimming pools, one third of the city’s total, in the first check of the year. Another two checks will be conducted in the third quarter of the year.

Shared-car DUI

A MAN was detained for allegedly drunk driving Tuesday, the first DUI case in the city involving an app-based shared car.

Longhua police caught the driver, surnamed Bai, in a routine roadside check at Meiban Boulevard in Minzhi Subdistrict. A blood test showed the alcohol content in Bai’s blood had reached 102.67 mg per 100 ml, surpassing the legal limit for drunk driving of 80 mg per 100 ml.

App-based cab license

APP-BASED car operators without licenses will be banned from engaging in app-based cab services after June 28. By Tuesday, only four operators, including Didi, have been granted the operation licenses. Drivers are also required to pass tests and obtain driver permits and a vehicle certificate.
