DUI cop jailed

SHENZHEN Intermediate People’s Court upheld the two-month jail sentence of a police officer with Huanggang Checkpoint Police Station for drunken driving, after the officer had appealed the initial sentence.

The officer, surnamed Liu, was caught Oct. 28, 2016 at the tollgate of Qingping Expressway. A roadside breath test showed that the alcohol content in his blood was 193mg per 100ml. A blood test showed it was 155.79mg per 100ml, nearly twice the standard for drunken driving. Liu was prosecuted this February and sentenced to two months in jail by a Longgang court.

Parking lots

MORE than 2,400 parking spaces will be added in the Dameisha area, solving the problems holidaymakers have with parking, especially during holidays and on weekends, Wu Delin, head of the Yantian District Government, told sznews.com during an interview.

The parking spaces include 400 underground spaces that are under construction and 2,000 parking spaces being developed on a parcel of land near the Sheraton Hotel in Yantian.
