‘Metamorphosis’

Artworks ranging from sculptures, videos to installations are on display at OCAT Shenzhen in memory of Huang Zhuan, renowned Chinese art historian, critic and curator. Initiated by Huang’s artist friends, the exhibition features contemporary artworks selected from past exhibitions curated by Huang, plus a few new works. Huang played a key role in the development of contemporary Chinese art.

Dates: Until July 2

Venue: OCAT Shenzhen, South Area, OCT-LOFT, Nanshan District (南山区华侨城创意园南区OCAT深圳馆)

Constellation Carnival

Uncle Tongdao, the popular illustrator who creates comics about astrology, brings his 12 zodiac friends to town. Karaoke booths, dessert-making workshops and a DJ set will also be a part of the carnival. Some areas of the event are free of admission, while other areas will charge entrance fees (20-30 yuan).

Dates: Until June 20

Hours: 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Video exhibition

The “In Search of Global Poetry: Videos From the Han Nefkens Collection” showcases 12 videos created by artists from different countries. The videos are on loan from Han Nefkens Foundation, a private nonprofit organization that supports contemporary creative projects.

Dates: Until July 9

Lotus flowers

It’s time to appreciate lotus flowers in Honghu Park. Gradually throughout this month the blossoming flowers will reach their peak, so don’t miss out.

Venue: Honghu Park, Wenjin Road North, Luohu District (罗湖区文锦北路洪湖公园)
