Secret recipe for Indiegogo campaigns
    2017-06-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

As more startups choose crowdfunding as an effective way to get their initial funding, many have begun to realize that crowdfunding has more to offer than just funding. It also provides resources in digital marketing and core users.

As one of the largest crowdfunding platforms, Indiegogo offers solutions to bring capital growth to makers. The solutions include equity crowdfunding (US$1.4 million for five projects within two months) and the NewEgg selling channel which is especially created for Indiegogo-funded products.

This Saturday, Sandy Diao, director of strategic programs at Indiegogo will have a workshop-style crowdfunding meetup, sharing about how to use digital marketing to grow hardware sales. Diao and her team have helped hundreds of Asia-based entrepreneurs launch their products into Western markets and raise millions of dollars through crowdfunding, as Asia is now one of Indiegogo’s fastest growing markets.

Diao will also give Indiegogo shirts to a few lucky winners during the quiz portion of the event.

Before joining Indiegogo, Diao helped a China-based consumer electronics company to build the customer support, digital marketing, sales and operations teams. She started her career at Pinterest, where she helped spearhead Pinterest’s first advertising product. She has a degree from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
