‘Metamorphosis’ Artworks ranging from sculptures, videos to installations are on display at OCAT Shenzhen in memory of Huang Zhuan, renowned Chinese art historian, critic and curator. Initiated by Huang’s artist friends, the exhibition features contemporary artworks selected from past exhibitions curated by Huang, plus a few new works. Huang played a key role in the development of contemporary Chinese art. Through his investigation of Shenzhen’s ecosystem, the artist reflects on the high-tech industry’s role in reshaping the world’s economic horizons. The exhibition title echoes the timely call for “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” in China.
