Maybe you haven’t heard of this long, unattractive name — Benedict Cumberbatch, but I am sure that you have heard about an English TV show called “Sherlock.”

It has been on BBC for nearly seven years and the enormous popularity and distinctive acting on the show had shocked the people worldwide. Benedict Cumberbatch, a man who was educated at the University of Manchester and got his master’s degree from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, is known for his unusual face and exquisite acting.

To many fans’ astonishment, Cumberbatch didn’t have a smooth and easy life. At one point, he did part-time jobs, like being an assistant in a perfume shop, just to earn a few pounds. He had to work very hard. However, with a heart filled with dreams, he often spared some time to go to the park nearby to practice playing the role of Hamlet to cultivate his talents. Fortunately, some directors discovered him and Cumberbatch was asked to audition for a few TV shows, for example “The Last Enemy.” As time passed by, he was approached by the BBC, which marked a turning point in his life.

Eventually, he found his way into some films, “Atonement” in particular. It portrayed Cumberbatch as an evil guy, a vivid baddy jumped into the public’s view. Countless people fell in love with his acting. Afterwards he was discovered by Moffat, the screenwriter for “Sherlock.”

He had already achieved a lot, but he said he wanted to be better. “I think I haven’t used all of my abilities, and I still have a blank to fill. I should make more efforts to act better, which can make my life richer. We must go ahead to prevent falling behind. Find what we need, do what we need to do. That’s now what I am doing.
