‘Shinya Shokudo’

In English as “Midnight Diner,” “Shinya Shokudo” is a Japanese manga series by Yaro Abe. It won the 55th Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga and it was nominated for the second Manga Taisho. It was adapted into a 10-episode live-action television drama in 2009, followed by a second season in 2011. In 2015, a live action film was released by director Joji Matsuoka starring Kaoru Kobayashi as “The Master.”

‘Late Night Restaurant’

“Shinya Shokudo” was adapted into a South Korean television series titled “Late Night Restaurant” in 2015. It aired two back-to-back episodes on SBS on Saturday at midnight from July 4 to Sept. 5, 2015.
