Suzhou painter

Suzhou painter Chen Rudong is exhibiting his Jiangnan-themed ink paintings on paper, silk and fans. Jiangnan is a geographic area referring to the lands immediately to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

Shen Yang

Chinese bass-baritone Shen Yang will sing a night of old Chinese folk songs. Shen’s repertoire encompasses operatic roles, chamber music and Lieder recitals. His debut at the Metropolitan Opera came in April 2009, as Masetto in “Don Giovanni.”

‘Metamorphosis’

Artworks ranging from sculptures, videos to installations are on display at OCAT Shenzhen in memory of Huang Zhuan, renowned Chinese art historian, critic and curator. Initiated by Huang’s artist friends, the exhibition features contemporary artworks selected from past exhibitions curated by Huang, plus a few new works. Huang played a key role in the development of contemporary Chinese art.

Shanxi cultural relics

More than 200 treasures from the Northern Dynasties (386-581) unearthed in Shanxi Province are on display. It is the first time for the Shenzhen Museum to hold an exhibition specializing in the history of the period.
