Failed bribery
SHENZHEN West Expressway Traffic Police rejected a driver’s attempt at bribery during a stop Saturday night, according to the Shenzhen traffic police.
The truck loaded with asphalt was intercepted at Shiyan Toll Gate. When police officers started to impose fines for multiple violations, such as a passenger failing to fasten his seat belt, the driver forgetting his driver’s license and an obscured license plate or reflective sign, the driver discretely tossed 400 yuan (US$59) into the police car and begged for an exemption.
Assault on officer
A 43-YEAR-OLD woman, surnamed Liu, was taken into administrative custody for 10 days for assaulting police officers, according to Shenzhen Railway Police Department.
Liu refused to submit herself to a security check at the Futian High-speed Railway Station on June 19 and kicked an officer.
Liu later was detained for disrupting social orders and hindering police duty.
