Shenzhen Library has opened two free group-study rooms for “City of Library” Shenzhen Library Network cardholders.

The rooms open at 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 5:30-8:30 p.m. everyday except Mondays and public holidays. A group of three to 10 people can hold meetings or read together in each room.

Readers need to book a time slot two days in advance by showing a library card and an outline of their meeting topics. Students aged between 14 and 18 need to present approvals from their schools as well.

Readers can call 8284-1215 to cancel their reservation one day ahead.

The “City of Library” Shenzhen Library Network cards refer to any library card from Shenzhen’s 237 public libraries, including those in districts or resident communities. People over the age of 3 can use their ID cards or passports to apply for library cards free of charge.
