Violation punishment
RESIDENTS who are caught violating traffic rules for the first time will be banned from using app-based bikes for a week since Saturday when the new rule became effective. People who are caught twice will be banned from using app-based bikes for a month and a third violation within a year will result in a six-month ban. App-based operators issued a total of 15,000 warnings to pedestrian violators in June.
New hospital location
THE new location of Shenzhen Sun Yat-sen Cardiovascular Hospital in Nanshan District was put into operation on a trial basis Saturday. The new location, with an investment of 950 million yuan (US$139.94 million) from the city government, offers 600 beds, four times the old location in Luohu District. The new location will serve only 100 people a day during the trial operation period in July.
Hiking trails
ABOUT 200 kilometers of the 368 kilometers of hiking trails Shenzhen has planned to build will be completed by the end of this year, sznews.com reported yesterday. The city has planned four major hiking trails: the western trail, the middle trail, the eastern trial and the around-Dapeng-Peninsula trail. Forty-four branch trails will be connected to the major trails, forming a 368-kilometer citywide hiking network.
