Man arrested

A MAN was recently arrested in Guangming New Area for allegedly stealing 22 laptop computers from a Metro Line 6 office in the new area last month.

The unidentified suspect, 22, allegedly sneaked into the office of a Metro construction project multiple times during the wee hours of June 23 to steal 22 laptops, with a market value of 90,000 yuan (US$13,240). The case is under investigation.

Road closed

XINGHAI Boulevard in Nanshan District has been closed due to safety hazards. A renovation project on the culvert beneath the boulevard will be undertaken and the road is expected to be open to traffic in November.

Nanguang Expressway

THE Nanguang (Nanshan-Guangming) Expressway will be turned into a city road. The project will start in 2019 and is expected to be completed in four years. Flyovers will be built to replace the current expressway exits in eight locations and four other flyovers will be built to connect the expressway with Nanhuan Boulevard, Guangqiao Road, Dongming Boulevard and the Outer Ring Expressway.

The Nanguang Expressway connects with Nanping Road in the south and extends 31 kilometers northward to Gongming Subdistrict in Guangming. It passes by Nanshan’s Xili Subdistrict, Shiyan and Songgang subdistricts in Bao’an.
